MARY H COLLINS

Mary Collins 2014-07-18_1032Blurb

Shelley lived the life of her dreams. She had a husband who loved her, a hit CD that was flying off the shelves and her fans adored her. There was only one thing missing … a baby.

After a fall down the stairs caused a miscarriage, Shelley went into a delusional state of mind and couldn’t differentiate her dreams from reality.

When Shelley’s assistant, Nikkei, became pregnant, Cliff offered her a large sum of money in exchange for the baby and she accepted – with stipulations of course.

Everything seemed to be working out fine until the baby went missing and Shelley retreated back into her delusional world.

Excerpt

Clint stood over Shelley’s bed, rubbing her hair lovingly. They didn’t talk, but she knew Clint felt the loss as much as she did. Doctor Moore had prescribed something to relax her and help her sleep. Without it she probably wouldn’t have slept at all. How will I ever get over losing our baby? The dream seemed real. She had given birth to a baby boy. He was a beautiful baby, the spitting image of his father with the same thick blond hair and blue eyes. They named him Clint Junior. She would spend every waking moment of her life making her family happy. “This is all I ever wanted,” she told Clint in the dream. But when she got ready to nurse Clint Junior he was gone. She began to panic, looking everywhere for him. Where could he be? She awoke suddenly to find Clint standing over her, rubbing the top of her head, his brows creased in worry.  “What is it Honey? You were throwing the covers and crying out as if searching for something.” “It’s probably because I’m in a strange bed. I will rest better when I get home.” She didn’t want to share her dreams with anyone … even her husband.

My true writing career began thirty some years ago while going through a valley, alone. I’ve come to believe that we all have a purpose in life, our path to walk.

Now that my middle son Chad Engstrom died on October 14, 2014, the rest of my life is not lived for myself, but to leave his legacy, not only because he was my son, but because of his beautiful soul.

May God guide me…. For our earthly selves are far from perfect, but may we be perfect in His love.
