Breaking the silence with Joy Redmond author of Give Me Wings. @authorjoy @katjanzanderson #amwriting

It’s been said that first novels are oftentimes drawn from real life experiences.  We write from what we know whether it’s pieces of real life, or inspirations from what we read, hear, or see, so it would make perfect sense that in part novels have at least a little of the author in them.

But how much real life is too much, and should a person worry about offending someone? Is it the healing process that’s more important, do we blame it on the art of expression, or just say, “Ya, should’ve been nicer.”

Today I’m putting these questions to one of the most delightful authors you’ll ever meet, Joy Redmond. She’s opinionated, funny as heck, sassy, and smart as a whip. I see her coming up the walkway now. It couldn’t be a more perfect day for this with a light breeze sending whiffs of heaven from the flower garden.

WELCOME FARA & THANKS TO MARIE LAVENDER FOR ALLOWING YOU TO JOIN US.

Upon Your Return Cover 2014-01-12_1203

Hello everyone.

I have a real treat for you today. The lovely Fara Bellamont from Upon Your Return is now entering the loft studio where she’ll be interviewed by psychologist Ms. Claire Van Cluer, my dear friend and confidante. She’s known for her blunt questions so hopefully she’ll take it easy on Ms. Bellamont. Oh, there goes the light signaling they’re about to begin. So, its all yours, Claire.

Mark Iles – Author of “A Pride of Lions”

I’m honored and very pleased to welcome

Mark Iles

Author of A PRIDE OF LIONS.

Mark Iles Book Jinged

Welcome to Kat’s corner, Mark. The cats welcome you too. As you can see I don’t actually have real cats here, just those two sculptures sitting next to the fireplace. Go head and take your wraps off and come sit by the fire.

You’ll notice my secretary brought us each a cup of Seattle’s Best hot chocolate. It really is the best. Mm, my favorite. Okay, so that’s not Seattle’s Best, just a replica, and I don’t have a secretary. Both are just wishful thinking.

So, now that we’ve both had a good sip of hot chocolate I think we’re ready for the interview.

Kathleen: First question: How’s your hot chocolate?
